1. Agreement to these terms
These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of Trev, including our website, application, Clio-connected workflows, document automation features, and related services.
By creating an account, starting a trial, subscribing, or using Trev, you agree to these Terms. If you are using Trev on behalf of a law firm or other organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.
2. Trev is software, not legal advice
Trev provides software tools for workflow and document automation. Trev does not provide legal advice, legal opinions, or legal services.
You are responsible for reviewing all workflows, AI-assisted outputs, templates, documents, and generated files before using or relying on them.
3. Accounts and authorized users
You must provide accurate account information and keep your login credentials secure. You are responsible for activity that occurs under your account.
Unless otherwise agreed in writing, a Trev subscription includes up to 5 authorized users. You may not share user accounts or allow unauthorized access to Trev.
4. Subscription, trial, and billing
Trev may offer a 7-day free trial through Stripe Checkout. Trial availability, duration, and plan terms are shown at checkout and may vary by offer.
Payments are processed by Stripe. By subscribing, you authorize recurring charges for applicable subscription fees and taxes. You are responsible for keeping payment information current.
5. Support
The subscription includes support for subscription questions and internal bug fixes. Trev may provide additional services only if separately agreed in writing.
6. Clio connection
Trev may connect to Clio if you authorize that connection. You are responsible for ensuring that you have the rights and permissions needed to connect Clio data to Trev and to use that data through Trev.
Trev is not responsible for Clio’s services, availability, data, or changes to Clio’s platform.
7. Customer content
“Customer Content” means information, templates, workflow answers, Clio-connected data, documents, files, and other materials submitted to or processed through Trev by you or your authorized users.
You retain ownership of your Customer Content. You grant Trev the rights needed to host, process, transmit, display, and use Customer Content only as necessary to provide, secure, support, and improve the service and as otherwise described in our Privacy Policy.
8. Acceptable use
You may not use Trev to:
- violate any law, regulation, court order, or professional obligation;
- infringe or misuse another person’s rights or confidential information;
- interfere with or disrupt Trev’s systems or security;
- attempt to reverse engineer, scrape, or misuse the service;
- share access credentials or allow unauthorized use;
- upload malicious code or harmful content.
9. AI-assisted outputs
Trev may include AI-assisted features. AI outputs may be inaccurate, incomplete, or unsuitable for a particular purpose. You are responsible for reviewing and approving all outputs before use.
10. Confidentiality and security
Trev will use reasonable measures designed to protect Customer Content. You are responsible for controlling which users have access to your Trev account and for maintaining appropriate internal policies and safeguards.
11. Third-party services
Trev may rely on third-party services, including Clio, Stripe, hosting, infrastructure, security, and AI-related providers. Your use of those services may be subject to their own terms and policies.
12. Availability and changes
Trev may modify, suspend, or discontinue features from time to time. We may also perform maintenance or updates that affect availability.
13. Termination
You may stop using Trev at any time. Trev may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms, fail to pay fees, create security or legal risk, or misuse the service.
14. Disclaimers
Trev is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the maximum extent permitted by law, Trev disclaims warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, and uninterrupted availability.
15. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Trev will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost revenue, lost data, or business interruption.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Trev’s total liability for any claim relating to the service will not exceed the amount paid by you to Trev for the service in the three months before the event giving rise to the claim.
16. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold Trev harmless from claims, damages, liabilities, and expenses arising from your Customer Content, your use of Trev, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of law or third-party rights.
17. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state where Trev is legally organized or principally located, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
18. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The updated version will be posted on this page with a new “Last updated” date. Continued use of Trev after an update means you accept the updated Terms.
